Garam Masala
Garam masala, which literally means warm spice, is an essential Indian spice blend. It is a fragrant combination of warming spices used to season many Indian dishes. It would not be an exaggeration to say, that each household’s version is different and unique. It is a blend of several aromatic and strongly flavored Indian spices that are roasted and then used in ground form. Garam masala has a darker color and is spicier compared to typical curry powder – a result of using cinnamon and cloves in the recipe.
